("we", "us", "Birdie") handles your information when you use the Read My Document add-in for Microsoft Word and related backend services (collectively, the "Service"). We aim to collect the minimum data needed to operate the Service and to be transparent about it.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA; the same email address is the way to exercise them.

6. Cookies and tracking

The Read My Document task pane does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It uses your browser's localStorage to remember your selected voice, speed, and pitch between sessions. Application Insights places a first-party cookie to correlate telemetry events from the same session; this cookie carries no personally identifiable information.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes that affect how we process your data will be announced via the add-in interface and, if applicable, by email to subscribers.
